Practice - Creating HIPAA Encryption Policies

This policy will always send messages encrypted when there is PHI in the body or attachment of a message.

To create the recommended HIPAA encryption policy

  1. On the Status window, select a cluster.
  2. Under the Manage Policies tab, select the Encryption tab.
  3. Type “PHI Auto Encrypt” in the Label field.
  4. Select .

The Glossary and Bindings dialog displays.

  1. In the HIPAA Violation (standard) row, select the Body and Attachments check boxes.
  2. Click OK.
  3. On the Send Options row, select Send. If the ZixSelect option is enabled at the end user desktop, also select Encrypt & Send .
  4. Select the Delivery Method you want to apply to matching emails.
  5. Click Apply.
